Ronald Vlaun was a loving husband and honorable father to his three daughters – Holly Bevilacqua, Heather Hunter and Heidi Pafias. All of whom were founding members of Carelot Children's Centers. Their father was tragically taken away from this world at the age of 53 of a massive heart attack. They have created a fund through the not for profit organization established by Carelot Children's Center as their PTO. This event and fund honors his support and guidance that he provided for them throughout the years that enabled “his girls” to fulfill their hopes and dreams of being educators and serving the community in which the Vlaun Family was born and raised.

The Ronald Vlaun Legacy is kept alive today by raising funds and being responsive to community tragedies in the areas that Carelot Children's Centers operate and by providing scholarships to High School graduates pursuing a degree in education. The fund has awarded thousands of dollars to High School graduates and families coping with tragedy in Waterford and East Lyme thus far.
